DIY: Garden Protection Sleeves

I spend way too much time in my local plant nursery, mainly because it's close to the office, so I'm tempted to buy garden accessories often. [If you want to skip to the video tutorial, click here.] Earlier this summer, while purchasing a few seeds, I came across garden protection sleeves at the cash register. When I saw them, I had an “aha” moment and couldn't believe it had never crossed my mind to purchase this! I spend the entire summer dealing with Mosquito bites, even if I'm only in the garden for 5 minutes. Yes, I could put on bug repellent spray, but if I'm doing a quick check before work, I don't want to spray bug repellent on my body or clothes.

However, I hesitated on the purchase for two reasons: 1. the cost and 2. My niece was with me and wanted a pair, too, and they only had them for adults. I told her I would make us both a pair, and that's precisely what I did. Our sleeves were made using lightweight athletic knit, but I can't say the exact fabric type since they were fabric scraps. If you stayed to the end of this backstory, thank you for sticking it out, and enjoy the video tutorial.
