Black Velvet Mini Skirt

Today's blog post will be short and sweet, just like my skirt. I wanted to share my fourth velvet look with you all because first, I love it,  and second, as a reminder that simple projects deserve attention too.

This mini skirt was made using my half circle skirt pattern, which I drafted using ByHandLondon Circle Skirt Calculator. The waistband is a one inch encased elastic waistband. The skirt was sewn entirely with a serger, and I finished the hem using my cover stitch. This stretch velvet is from JoAnn, if I'm not mistaken. I bought it a while back, but I feel Iike they probably stock this material regularly.  That's it, short and sweet as promised!

Outfit details: top/M7983, tights/target, shoes/Jessica Simpson (old).
