New Look 6650: Tribal Print Dress

I think I've finally found the perfect pattern to help me create my dream work wardrobe quickly. I love sewing knit fabric and prefer to make knit dresses for work (my weight fluctuates). However, I've found that a lot of patterns designed for knit usually lack fitting elements such as darts. After waiting almost two months for my local JoAnn to finish a reset in the pattern area (they removed all the new look patterns during that time) I was able to grab this New Look pattern.

I choose this pattern because it has fisheye darts on the back dress piece, creating shape at the waist and across the backside. New Look 6650 has two view options. I made View A, which is the shorter dress length with a slightly longer short sleeve. I cut the size 10 at the shoulder and graded it to a 14 at the hip. I made no other modifications and I'm really happy with the results. The neckline is finished using a narrow hem, but in the future, I plan to use a neckband as I am not a fan of narrow hems for knit projects. The fabric is an ITY knit from fabric.com that I purchased about three or four years ago. I paired the dress with a pair of lace, black Jessica Simpson pumps (old). If you follow me on any of my social media accounts you can expect to see a couple of dresses pop up using this pattern.
